Obviously things have been busy around Isaiah 55, hence the long sabbatical from blogging. A few highlights from the end of the year:
November 21 - Revolutionary Day Parade
The kids dressed up as revolutionaries and participated in the city parade. The older students, under the guidance of the new deaf teacher assistant Alex, learned a salute which they performed for the mayor and his wife.
December 6 - Telethon
The students were invited to participate in the Telethon sponsored in part by the local and state DIF. They signed the traditional telethon song to help raise money for children with special needs. The performance was broadcast on television!
December 12 - Christmas Party
We closed out the first semester with a Christmas party with the students and their families. Approximately 100 people were in attendance to watch the students perform their Christmas carols.
