Mid Week

The guys continued to work hard at both Kelly's construction site and the hospital site yesterday and today (WED & TH).  The majority of the work that our teams do is concrete and laying block.   Big John, as he is affectionately called, has been coming down to MX on work teams for years. In all those years he has NEVER laid block.  Well, now he can add that to his resume.  This week he got to lay block.  And did an excellent job -- as did all the gentlemen.

Pictures from Sunday

Tuesday

Kelly Green is a missionary here in Reynosa that works with prostitutes.  She has bought some land and is building a 1/2 type house.  Her vision is to get these women out of the lifestyle and teach them another way to earn their money.  Kelly is a wonderful friend and is unofficially part of our team.  We have agreed to help Kelly with some of her construction projects.

So, the guys worked mostly on her land Tuesday.  They are putting a roof on an existing structure as well as starting the walls for another.  Still no pictures to share with you, but as soon as we can get them downloaded from the cameras we will make sure and post some.

Hope and Grace are Here!

Saturday we welcomed our first team of 2008!  An all men's group from Grace Fellowship in Gulf Shores, Al and Hope Pres in Memphis, TN.  A total of 11 men.  The mission cooks prepared a great meal for the guys after which they headed to the Clow's home to "hang-out".  The Clow children ended up "hanging" all over them!    They spent Sunday afternoon, after worship service and lunch, at the local orphanage.  The kids there are so deprived of attention, especially male attention.  Hope and Grace gave undivided attention to those precious children and allowed them to "hang" all over them.
To the wives and kids of these men: I think you would love to know that they are talking about you, sharing photos, etc...  they may be giving attention to other kids, but they are thinking and missing their own families!
Today was the first job site day.  They have been working at the Deaf School getting the second story complete and at the hospital site.  Of course, there were breaks to observe classes and play with the deaf kids!  It is a nice warm day, so I am sure they are going to be ready for showers and another great meal from the I55 cooks.
