I55 To Austin

The I55 team is heading to Austin, TX  this weekend to visit with Christ the King Presbyterian Church.  Nono and John actually left this morning and all the ladies and kids will follow tomorrow.  We will all be returning Sunday afternoon.   Please pray for safety as we travel.
School news:  We have a crew of Mexican employees who have been working hard to get the 2nd level completed.  The doors and windows are being put in this week and there has been a lot of welding getting the bars and gates up for security.  Hopefully soon we will have some completed pictures of the finished project to show you.  While the men work upstairs the students are working just as hard downstairs.  One thing they have been working on this week is learning the vocabulary of animal names.  The kindergarten class sits at a table and plays with animal figurines while their teacher practices over and over the signs for the animals.  The older kids are at their desks busy not only learning the signs, but also learning to recognize and spell the written word.  What a wonderful day it will be when they can open up the Bible and understand THE written WORD!  We now have 26 students who attend regularly and 28 on the roster.  Please pray for our students, their parents, and our teachers.

Thanks for your prayers and support!

First Day!

Our 2007-2008 school year started on Monday, September 3.  It was a little rainy and overcast, so not all the students showed up, but we had 15 students that were there by 9am ready to learn their language!  The teachers had their classrooms looking bright and welcoming.  The students entered their school to the warm smiles and tender love of their teachers.  We have started the school year off with three teachers and one secretary who are nothing less than a God sent blessing to Isaiah 55 and to the deaf students and their families. Here are a few pictures from that special day:

Congratulations

The I55 family has some exciting news!!!

  • Meet_my_fiance_andyThis past June Andy Garner, a dear friend and long time supporter of the ministry,  proposed to Corry Moore.  They will be getting married on November 3rd in South Carolina.  Corry will be returning to Mexico once a month from their home in Nashville, TN to continue training our teachers and developing a school curriculum.  We hope to see Andy on some of those visits as well!  Although we will greatly miss Corry here in Mexico on a daily basis, we are excited that God has brought Andy into her life and rejoice with them on this new path that God is leading them down.     Congratulations Andy and Corry!!!

  • Bibb_and_amy In August of this year Bibb Beale, Nono and Kate's son, proposed to Amy Cortese.  Bibb and Amy met the first summer that I55 hosted work teams.  Amy came with her church on a one week work team and they have been dating ever since.  They will be married on December 31st in Florida.  We rejoice yet again to see God bring two lives together and make them one.                   Congratulations Bibb and Amy!!!

Dear Andy & Corry   and   Bibb & Amy:

We praise God for bringing you together and pray that God will richly bless your lives!  We love you and rejoice with you ------

Love,
Your I55 Family
